Rob Farrands - Photographer
I learned to handle a camera and use a dark room in 1968 guided by my friend David Sawyer. He also drew me into being his assistant on the University newspaper.
From the beginning I have taken photography seriously although I did not pursue it as a career until much more recently. I began my career outside of photography by being called to the Bar and ended it by retiring from the business Figure Ground Consulting that I had co-founded with my wife Bridget.
Since becoming a full time photographer I have qualified to become an Associate of the British Institute of Professional Photography and have developed my technique and powers of expression through commissions and exhibiting my photographs.
